DJAMES AND KOMO JOIN FORCES FOR THEIR DYNAMIC NEW AFROBEATS SINGLE ‘SHIGEGE’
Red Bull 3Style UK DJ Champion, curator and producer DJames has teamed up with the widely celebrated and versatile Nigerian-born British Afrobeats artist Komo for their single SHIGEGE, set for release on 9th July. Through his remixes, mixtapes and live shows, DJames has built a global fan base and become one of the most trusted names in the industry. His unique style has also caught the attention of a long list of stars, with Wizkid, Burna Boy, Koffee, Drake and The Weeknd among those enjoying his creative DJ sets. Well travelled singer-songwriter and rapper Komo’s musical versatility has facilitated collaborations with some of Europe’s top DJs and producers, garnering hundreds of thousands of streams online and landing features on numerous editorial playlists, as well as placements with Puma and the movie Seven (2019) on Netflix.
Energetic and infectious, Shigege is sonically decorated with compelling contemporary African rhythms, catchy lyrics, and dreamy synth layers, guaranteed to have the listener hooked throughout. DJames' production perfectly blends Afropop with elements of UK music and the popular Nigerian street ‘Zanku’ style, providing the perfect platform for the 'OMO IDIMU' dynamic flow and captivating delivery for which Komo has become known. The debut release by DJames, in partnership with Komo, will be published under their imprints Kick It and 100 Music Records respectively.
